ARMIN CSIZMADIA
My work explores the expressionism of aesthetics,
stories, and atmospheres that inspire me. I specialize in printmaking, often blending digital planning in Photoshop with traditional mediums like charcoal, graphite, and paint. I’m particularly drawn to the unexpected outcomes of printmaking, which align with my expressive style.
I am passionate about the intersection of science and art, particularly the fusion of psychology and neuroscience with creative practice. Recently, I’ve begun creating multisensory pieces that combine visuals with scent, a direction I aim to pursue further.

Audio Visual induction
Audio visual elements included in “Thoughts as clouds, clouds as thoughts”.
AV induction was our last induction, and at the time I was largely focusing on the development of “thoughts as clouds, clouds as thoughts”. However I wanted to create an audiovisual version of the project for archive, therefore I developed the idea of recording the whole show infront of a white background, and putting all the songs I used behind it.
To begin with this, I selected a list of songs from spotify. I selected them intuitively for the following purposes: Immersion, inspiration, upliftin and importantly. For this reason I primarily selected songs such as “Space Oddity” by David Bowie, which made a reference to the nature of installation which created a space effect. While other songs like “Stockholmsvy” by Hannes had the lyrics ‘we are gonna make a memory’ linking to how the project explores memories and experiences. And lastly ‘All tomorrow’s parties’ by the velvet underground was creative directed by Andy Warhol, who I was inspired by to create this project. I believe these songs make unique intertextual references to my installation, making it more contemporary but also relevant to youth and community, which is a theme I partially mention in my work.
To start off, I created a photoshopped version of the Clouds. I edited the colour of these and added extra elements, as this wasnt made to be a representation of the work but rather a demo that presents the emotional feeling of seeing it.

After this I used the Prallax backdrop on cargo which animates the floating bags. It is also interactive to the touch of the mouse, which resembles the interactivity of the project. I chose to present this piece of work between the pages: “Project Razzmatazz” and “Thoughts as clouds, clouds as thoughts”. I made this as a form of guerilla presentation, similar to guerilla marketing in terms of surprisingly presenting the work on a relevant place.

After this, I thought I would further use this technique, and in a way let it invade my website for some pages, to celebrate my recent and most monumental project ever.
When I was writing the statement about my exhibition, I added one of the photoshopped bags as a flying object, therefore when the readers are reading the statement, the bag just floats through the screen.

The last AV work I will make will be the video documentation. I will buy some more helium and inflate the bags again so they will fly, and I will make a 20 minutes video with the songs playing under it. I might use participants or participate myself, or both to represent the interactive nature. Or I will make 2 separate videos, one interactive and one non interactive.
